The British Museum and The Cartoon Museum

Hi fellow sketchers As a number of you R.S.V.P'd to go on the British museum Meetup posted earlier I thought it would be a good idea to re-instate it. So its now re-instated. The plan currently is to meet at the north west corner of the Court Cafe in The British Museum at 11.00 pm. I’ll update you on any changes, that happen before the day if there are any. I will try to find some kind of sign to help identify the group and of course let you know what it is, if I find one - if I can’t find it, it probably woudn’t make a good sign anyway - but in the mean-time I will email my number before the day so you can locate us if there are any problems finding the group or easily avoid us if you suddenly change your mind once you’ve seen us. After meeting and drawing in the museum we will reconvene at 15.00 and go on to visit The Cartoon Museum just opposite in Little Russell Street. Entry into the Cartoon museum is £5.50 for adults, £4.00 concessions and £3.00 for students with a valid student ID. If you think that’s a crap idea and want to continue drawing that’s fine we have the option to split into another group for those that want to stay as we’ll have another organizer with us. We’ll all ending the Meetup in the Jack Horner after, a pub on Tottenham court road, to look at and discuss each others work, share ideas, give pointers and drink.

I turned up about an hour early on the day and I was going to walk around and figure out what I wanted to draw before meeting everyone. But when I found something to draw I decided to start immediately before the crowds arrived and by 11am I was fully absorbed and couldn't tear myself away from what I was doing. Same thing happened at lunchtime. Oops!

I think I'm not going to rate at 5 stars until we get the chance to draw outside, but this one was as good as it gets... for a shy "artist" like myself, the crowds could get pretty annoying and it gets more and more difficult to get the perfect spot. But that's just me. Felt quite inspired in the end, really starting to know people, which is great. Love the ambiance

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
