Hello
We will meet for this trip at 10.45 AM outside the entrance to Archway tube station - I think there is only one entrance to this station, if you know please correct me or confirm.
From there we will walk up to Highgate cemetery and enter it via Swain's Lane. There is a fee for getting into the cemetery. The East cemetery - the side we will be going to - is £3.00 cash only, this is the side which has Karl Marx's tomb. The west side is £7.00 but by guided tour only so I expect you won't be able to stop and draw.
After the cemetery we will then walk to Waterlow Park I'm not sure whether we can reach the park on Swain's Lane or whether we will have to walk around the cemetery to Highgate hill, again I would welcome anyone’s knowledge on this.
I've never been to Waterlow Park, but it looks promising - an idea suggested by Debbie one of the members of the group. Thanks Debbie. The park is home to some of London’s wild life and the historic Lauderdale House, the park also has a café, arts and exhibition centre, and formal terraced gardens.
As usual we will end the day in a pub - most probably the Whittington and Cat or The Old Crown to - view each other's work.
Hope to see you there. I'll post my mobile number the day before, in case you have trouble finding us.

Highgate Cemetary was an interesting location. Very atmospheric. I enjoyed drawing there.

Had a great day. Awesome place to be drawing. And love the laid-back ness of the group - with everyone's eagerness to have their techniques inspired by each other. Thanks! x

The West Cemetary is lovely and full of atmosphere. My gtx4 aunt, Lizzie Siddal (Rossetti's wife) is buried there, but I think they miss her out on the tour because of sinking ground or something...Wish I could make it, but have to open my workshop most Sats.

There is an entrance/exit to Archway tube on Highgate Hill, down the steps by the subway, and one just round the corner too... in case anyone's lost...

I've been there in May. Though the cemetery itself seemed a bit boring to me, the area is nice. The Whittington Hospital buildings are also very different and probably interesting for sketchers specializing on architecture.
