Announcing a new Meetup for Drawing London on Location! What
: Horniman MuseumWhen
: Saturday, February 5,[masked]:45 AMWhere
: Forest Hill station
The Horniman Museum Horniman Museum
is in Forest Hill in South London and we had considered visiting this in the past. it has three collections - Anthropology, Natural History and Musical Instruments. The highlight though is the over stuffed Walrus in the Natural History collection and up to now this gallery has been shut for refurbishment. It is now due to re-open on 27 December and I thought we should schedule a visit in the New Year. For those not interested in stuffed walruses the musical instruments should provide some interesting shapes to draw and there are nice gardens for a quick foray outdoors if it is not too cold.
We will meet at Forest Hill station which is on the London Overground line between Dalston Junction and West Croydon/Crystal Palace. Direct train services run from London Bridge (linking with the Northern and Jubilee Lines) and London Victoria (linking with Victoria, Circle and District lines). Visit the TFL TFL
website to check for planned engineering works nearer the date.
