Announcing a new Meetup for Drawing London on Location!
What: Imperial War Museum
When: Saturday, February 20, 2010 11:00 AM
Imperial War Museum
Lambeth Road SE1 6HZ
Even if (like me) you usually avoid anything to do with warfare, this is an amazing and unusual place to draw. It has a vast internal area, which can be viewed from below, or above, as there is a high level walkway all round. Included are planes (Spitfires and Lincoln bomber), tanks, field guns, polaris missile, one man submarine, fishing boat, olde worlde open top London bus etc. Another section displays a full size reconstruction of 1st world war trenches, and there are plenty of other galleries with varied displays, reflecting life during wartime.
The museum is Free to get in and we suggest meeting in the museum cafe at 11am, and meeting back in the cafe at 1.30 to take a break. Then for those who can stay longer, carry on drawing into the afternoon and meet back in the cafe at 4pm to share experience of the day.
