This is a great group for anyone interested in drawing urban or rural (there are more than you might think) landscapes, city landmarks and the human figure (generally clothed) in a variety of locations and situations.
It's also great if you want to explore a bit of the city. Each week all the members of the group get together once all the drawing is over (usually in a pub) to decide where to go the following week. Locations range from touristic to obscure, and are often chosen based on what based on what people like exploring, practicing, or experimenting with. If you're there on the day you get a say.
Sessions are very relaxed. Everyone splits up once a meeting point is picked out, so that we can all wander about to find something we're interested in drawing and then meet up again in an hour or two, when we decide whether to stay or move on to somewhere else.
There is no tuition, but everyone shares what they've done at the end of the day, which gives people a chance to share tips and ideas.
The group is entirely drop-in, so there is no obligation to enroll or attend every week, people just come when they can make it.
All sessions are absolutely free, all you'll need are materials you want to work with and a little money on your oyster card. All levels are welcome, hope you can join us!!
So...it's free, you can basically draw whatever you like, you get to explore London, and we almost always end up in the pub in the end. What more do you want in a meetup group eh?
(We also occasionally arrange to hire a life model for life drawing sessions, but this is not regular, and only happens according to how many group members are available and interested. We try to get about 4-6 people together for this is keeps costs nice and low without spoiling the atmosphere of the session)
