Startup Stories - Learn from Founders

As a prelude to this season's Dreamstake Academy, due to start on 29th. January we are providing this major opportunity to learn from founders - how to create a successful startup and avoid the obvious mistakes.

We will present five startup founders in a quick-fire session with an opportunity to cross examine them and find out the secret of startup success.

So please join us at the amazing Google Campus for some useful startup tips shared over a few drinks.

Lenka Gourdie, The CEO & Co-Founder of Bagservant (
is cognoscente of everything fabulous and luxurious and is respected by people who know her for keen eye for handbags, fashion and luxury products. Lenka has over 15 years experience in sales, marketing, business development and recruitment. Additionally she also has proven experience in commercialisation and new product development. Lenka worked for a fashion manufacturing house for over 2 years.

Stu Green - Founder of Project Bubble  (
Stu has been a self-taught developer since the age of 17. After spending 10 years working for other people he decided to launch his own startup with the Software as a Service model, Project Bubble, which is an online project management tool. Since then Stu has enjoying running a bootstrapped startup, learning valuable lessons about user growth, marketing, APIs, conversion rates, hiring and also balancing being a busy startup founder and a Dad. Stu lives in North London with his wife Jude (who's in fact the CFO of Project Bubble) and his daughter Imogen.

Gerlinde Gniewosz - CEO Founder of KO-SU ("Mobile Learning for Everyone",

Gerlinde has 13+ years of experience across a breadth of industries and geographies. She is also the founder of Zuztertu, an educational mobile apps and solutions development company, which originally developed the KO-SU prototype and the acclaimed Pollock’s Toy Theatre app for the iPad (included on Sunday Times app list for past two years). Prior to Zuztertu, Gerlinde worked for Yahoo!, forming and running strategic projects. Her love of mobile technology however, was born during her time working for Orange UK. She also has had experience as a strategic consultant in Germany and as a structured finance investment banker in Australia. Gerlinde holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (1st class honours and university medal) from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Rafaqat Ali - Founder of (

Raf has been a software practitioner for over 25 years. He has worked in Telecoms, Aerospace and Pharmaceutical industries. He launched his first mobile embedded devices software company in 1990, He founded the worlds first on portal live/interactive video service based in Estonia. His latest venture is an ethical enterprise to help families manage mobile spend which is launching early this year.

Ralph Stenzel - Co-Founder & CTO of Dreamstake (

For the past 18 years Ralph (@amazingsquirrel) has been building and managing teams and platforms and has been translating between technical geeks and business people in both corporate and startup environments.
