Drinking is all well and good, but beer & bullshit won't help us deal with the political problems we face. Knowledge, discussion and action will. Please consider joining in addition to this group a group I just started: True Blue: Progressive Liberals.

I have never been to a DL meeting where I didn't learn something. The Discussions are great and everyone is involved in action, including but not limited to, move to amend, getting signatures for early voting, volunteering with Harvesters, revitalizing Troost Avenue etc. etc. It's not about Drinking although that's in name. It's about creating a convivial space for the exchange of ideas.

Okay, guess I misjudged DL. But perhaps the name itself is not such a good idea? A bit misleading? And in politics, as I am sure you know, every word has to be weighed carefully. I also think we need to have as many groups like this as possible if we are not to be inundated by the marketing that the Right can now afford given the Supreme Court's recent decision on contribution limits. The more visible and forthright liberals are the better.
