Dripping Springs Toastmasters Meetup

Dripping Springs Toastmasters' Club wishes to extend a warm welcome to the community and an invitation to visit our club. We meet each Tuesday evening at 6:30 for about an hour in the Pioneer Bank Building (west side entrance). Bank is located at 100 Creek Road or at the corner of Creek Road and US HWY 290W (west of intersection of RR12).  (Google Maps prefers to call "Creek Rd" as County Road 190)

Our mission is to promote personal public speaking ability and leadership skills within each member of the club. Everyone has a beginning. No one person's goals are the same as another. Yet the Toastmasters' model develops each individual at their pace and ability.

Our usual meeting looks like this: We have am MC that we call the Toastmaster for the evening. He/She is responsible for the flow of the meeting. We have 2 or 3 prepared speeches that normally run from 5 to 10 minutes. Each speech comes from a manual and has a purpose or goal that the speaker is attempting to achieve as they build their speaking skills.

After the prepared speeches, we move into impromptu speeches that last from 1 to 2 minutes. The topics are prepared by an individual who selects speakers from the club who do not have major speaking roles. This allows almost all attendees an opportunity to practice their speaking skills at the meeting.

The third portion of the meeting is the evaluation of the speeches. The evaluator, who has reviewed the speaker's goals, then presents his/her critique of the speech within a 2 to 3 minute timeframe.

A recap of each meeting is posted on our website http://dstm.freetoast... and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.c.... Take a look to see what we are all about. No need to contact us in advance of a meeting. Just show up. We look forward to your visit.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
