In the 1-hour workshop portion of this event from 11:45am-12:45pm, you will learn from KwanWu YU (aka retroasian) about the following:

Field Trip to Century Spa in Koreatown

After the workshop, you are invited to continue your education of Korean culture and jimjilbang by joining us on a field trip to the jimjilbang at Century Spa in Koreatown, Los Angeles. We will be carpooling from Droplabs promptly at 12:45am.

Century Spa is a 24-hour gym, sports club and jimjilbang (Korean community spa) with 3 floors of spacious spas, hot tubs, pools, saunas and relaxation rooms (gold, ice, eucalyptus steam, etc.) and has a restaurant and juice bar. Their phone number is (323) 954-1020.

If ordering food at Century Spa, bring extra cash or debit / credit card. Towels, robes, etc. and a variety of toiletries are provided by Century Spa, but feel free to bring a change of clothes or other personal items. Internet access is provided upstairs in the jimjilbang.

About KwanWu YU

KwanWu YU was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, where he had a number of careers, from the performing arts to serving in the military. For many years while pursuing his passion in the performing arts and taking dancing, acting and vocal training during the day, he worked at night selling dried fish and seaweed to the food industry in order to make a living.

Since coming to the United States in 2008, he established himself as an actor and musical performer and has appeared on stage in the play Equus; the small screen on Two Broke Girls, Switched at Birth and NBC's hit comedy, Community; and on the big screen in Argo, X-Men: First Class, Celeste and Jesse Forever, and A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.

When he is not acting, KwanWu writes about classic cars on his website,, and gives guided tours of Koreatown, Los Angeles. He is an accomplished sign maker and urban painter and has worked on several mural projects throughout the LA area.

Droplabs is in the Mission Junction neighborhood of Los Angeles at Big Art Labs, just 1 mile down Main St. from Philippes and Union Station. We're one block west of The Brewery, the largest live-and-work artists' colony in the world.

Free parking in our large parking lot is first-come, first-served. After parking in the lot, follow the yellow signs that point to Droplabs. (If our lot is full, you can park for free on Clover St.)

Droplabs is a brief walk from the Main St. / Lamar St. stop on the the Metro Local 76 bus line. This is also the Lincoln Heights / Chinatown DASH stop.
