Join us for a short hike at the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Center.
birdandhike.com describes this trail as "This trail leads into one of the deep, narrow canyons in the Red Rocks cliffs, climbing about 500 ft in 1.1 miles to a series of waterfalls. The hike is delightful, but the trail and canyon bottom are rocky, so it is slow going and moderately strenuous. The canyon rarely gets full sun, resulting in perennially cool conditions, hence the name. High cliffs and water polished rock block further progress up the canyon."
As always, we will meet at Beej's house to arrange carpools. Please arrive on time as the park will fill up with vacationers on their last day of the holiday weekend. We will depart at 9:30 am.
Bring a snack and plenty to drink. Sturdy, over the ankle shoes and a hiking stick are encouraged. A hat, sunscreen and a camera are recommended.
Depending on when we get done, we will stop somewhere for a treat on the way home.
