But what to do on the other Fridays? Come to the other side of the lake for more tipple and more philosophy of course! Join us at Lot No. 3 in Bellevue.
DP: Eastside follows the same free form discussion format as the regular Seattle meetups, so just come by, take a seat, and start discussing what's on your mind. The reservation will be under my name, Paul, or ask the wait staff where Drunken Philosophy is seated.
This group is for people who like to mix philosophical discourse and drinking. If you're looking for carefully moderated debate, look elsewhere. These discussions are unstructured intellectual free-for-alls - the only two constants are booze and a keen interest in the nature of reality and human existence. We take philosophy very seriously, but we don't think taking it seriously demands that you act like an academic when discussing it.
No formal training is necessary - no one will be expected to be able to parse words like "epistemological" or "normative" without some explanation. We welcome anyone who has a fierce curiosity about the big questions - questions about ethics, free-will, consciousness, language and meaning, aesthetics, etc - and isn't satisfied with the usual explanations.
