Drupal Brisbane

We have a couple of ideas for presentations for the August Brisbane Drupal Meetup - and we will post them once confirmed. However we're keen to hear offers or suggestions from potential presenters here. Many thanks to presenters at last month's meeting.

All are welcome to attend Brisbane's monthly Drupal Meetup - from experienced professionals to beginning hobbyists. We try to make it friendly and welcoming to new-comers.

Venue: The group has been exploring our venue options - given the noise issues and size constraints at the great pub that has been our regular home over the past 18 months. With thanks to FlightCentre corporate for hosting our July meetup, this month we will be back in the Conference Room at Justice Place, 5 Abingdon St, Woolloongabba - with some suggestions that this might become our permanent meetup location.

Transport: This inner-city venue is accessible, has on-site parking and is close to public transport - Park Road Railway Station (Zone 1 or 2) and the adjoining Boggo Road Busway Station (Zone2).

The location is also an easy ride or doable and pleasant walk from the city via the Goodwill bridge (3km) or from UQ St Lucia  via the Schonnell Green Bridge (2km). There is a CityCycle Station only 150m away on Annerley Road (Station 124 -- near cnr Annerley Road/Grove Street)

NB: Discussion may take place either on this thread, or on the thread at however we will ensure that all core details are kept up-to-date on both sites.

Although I have been curious about OSS and web application, I'm completely newbie. I can't understand their conversation right now, these conversation and this experience is useful for me someday in future. I'm going to search these some keywords.

How did the Flight Centre location work for everyone last month?

Hi David, It was a nice location. Security was a little tight, we needed to send someone downstairs to wait for late comers. The Flight centre crew were happy to host an occasional meetup there, but don't want to be doing it every month.

The new location doesn't work for me at all coming from the Sunshine Coast -- so I am the odd one out :)

Hi, I come from Japan to study English. I graduated information system engineerning faculty. Although I have never used PHP, I'm curious about this kind of IT meet-up and conference. Nice to meet you.
