Until we meet next time, here are maker group ideas so far which are going to start fairly soon : 1. 3D printer using recycled PET bottles.
    Main owner : Paul
    Technology subset : 3D Printing
Summary : Develop a 3D printer to make simple shapes from raw material extracted by melting discarded PET bottles.

    2. Indoor Air Pollution Monitor.
    Main owner : Ron
    Technology subset : WSN's
Summary : Develop a wireless network of DIY indoor air pollution monitors as nodes to relay that info via WIFI to a web server by which the home user tracks noise, particular matter and CO in real time. Mobile extension of this idea : Mobile air pollution sensor for implementation on a bicycle where sensors communicate by bluetooth with your phone.

This isn't all. Gerard has a completed project - an Arduino based light switch called Arduswitch. Some others are working with DIY foam based RC planes. Lots of things going on!

Please be advised, even though STEM Studio will not charge for entrance (exclusively for this group members), there is an entrance fee for Creek Park (AED 5) and entrance for Children's City (AED 10). So total AED 15 needs to be paid. I will try to speak to the children's city staff if they can waive off the AED 10 fee. Will keep you updated if they agree. You can all reach me on[masked]

    Hi Paul and fellow Makers...

I got stuck in Abu Dhabi delivering a Raspberry Pi workshop so could not attend....

We have opened a Makerspace concept called as STEM Studio in Childrens City, Creek Park, Dubai. We have 3D Printers, 3Doodlers, Robotic Kits, ARduinos, Raspberry Pis, Makey Makey, NAO Humanoid Robot, Aeromodelling kits, and much more....and I want to increase awareness amongst the general public .

I propose we can have a meetup here and I would make sure we do not charge our members for using any of our space or equipment.....of course if it a large 3D printed object, we will charge you according to weight...but we have all the tools for a great makerspace....please let me know if we can plan something.

Hi Paul, I'm hosting an CSR event at Bur Juman on 19-21 September in celebration of World Alzheimer's Day. Our theme is 'Brain Health.' The Dubai Lego Robot Makers are invited to be part of this event and showcase any the group's robotic masterpieces. Please let me know if there is interest so we could coordinate accordingly ([masked])
