The Power of "Anchoring" in Hypnotherapy.

Joseph O'Connor and John Seymor in their book, Introducing Neurolinguistic Programming (Mandala, 1990) define "anchoring" as follow:

The process by which any stimulus or representation (external or internal) gets connected to and triggers a response. Anchors can occur naturally or be set up intentionally.

Perhaps you have noticed how certain experiences consistently seem to produce particular states in you (f.i. a particular perfume, a song, a smell, a sound...). Many "problem" states are expressed in the form "whenever X happens, I feel Y". This is an example of a naturally occurring anchor which was established at some point in personal history. Conversely, many positive states become naturally anchored in the same way (f.i. "whenever I listen so-and-so, I feel so good".

Join us in learning about and practicing a simple yet powerful collapsing anchors technique as well as a positive anchoring technique you can use to bring a particular state in you.

We'll do a demo then break off into pairs to practice the technique on each other.

At the beginning of the meet-up, we will give a brief explanation about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and some of the most used techniques in Hypnotherapy.

Running Order:

Hi! How this practice works exactly? I don't know anything about hypnosis. Would be suitable for me? Thank you. :)
