I think the meet up was a little oversubscribed and when we arrived at the venue we could not participate as it was full and there was no microphone available to enable those at the back of the room to hear.

I liked it, good talk, good crowd, trousers and shirt were not a good dress code for the day, it was boiling in there.

It was great to hear about the social history of the time from Dr. Conroy, especially re the interventionist, not laissez-faire, aspects.

very interested in many aspects of instituitional 'care', sorry to have missed talko magdalen laundaries a few weeks ago. This talk may show some common features of care for disadvantaged people, may see if my views are challenged or re-inforced

The people's history project sounds very interesting and I am keen to know more as well as hear about Richmond Asylum. A double shot of interest, hurrah!
