Did you know Culture Night is just 8 years old, started in 2006. And 300,000 are expected to turn out across the country tomorrow evening at a multitude of events plus 160,000 visitors expected in Dublin alone where 196 venues will host 300 events. WOW. Looks like Dublin City is really cranking up gears for Culture Night with dancing, music, singing and the spoken word on public transport and paintings in museums that come alive.

Our night's events take place in Dublin Castle and Christ Church.

Your programme for the evening has been emailed to you.  Please let me know, only via email please, if you need it resent to an alternative email.

Please update your RSVP if you can't attend as there is a lengthy wait list.

Looking forward to a very interesting and fun evening.

What a night in Dublin - would make you wish you could live there! Fantastic buzz in the city, packed with natives, happy kids, tourists etc. Got to see Dublin Castle, crypts, then onto Christ Church and Temple Bar. Many thanks Mary for organising meet-up - I lost you the Castle crypts, hope you didnt fall into the Poddle!

Hi ... Guess you didn't make it to the library or revenue museum, we were all on watch for you, glad you had a good time. Was nearly dipping my toes into the Poddle to some relief!

A great evening at culture night plus the added bonus of super weather. Dublin Castle and Christ Church were wonderful locations to enjoy and our beverage stop for some r&r during and after was well earned. Fun time had with lots of laughter.

The email is several pages long, seriously but only covers 4 locations. But if it helps to know we've made some great contacts for new trips along the research path so will share with you for your thoughts. Seriously I could give up my day job and just saunter around my home town having a coffee in between absorbing all it's history. Now there's a thought .....

Will have a look at the website and see which items might be worth going to. From previous experience I think it best to decide on a particular area and attend a couple of events in that area, less time wasted travelling between events. Ber

    • Mary

Hi Ber, I agree. I've had great feedback so far based on people's experience in prior years. So 3 - 4 locations I would see us covering, at a max, followed by a get together (thanks for that one Christine).
