Hi, I am super keen to get knitting with the group but I've had plans every Sunday this summer! I haven't knitted since I was a kid... I'm not sure what I should bring to my first meetup... any tips?! Hopefully will get to see you all regularly in the Autumn.

No problem :) try getting a double knitting weight yarn or something thicker like aran and see what needle size the yarn recommends (it'll say on the ball band), so for a dk yarn maybe 4-5mm needles so your fabric won't be too tight = hard on hands and difficult to work with. YouTube works well for some people, I usually prefer picture tutorials. You could also have a look in your local library, the stitch and bitch books have great drawn tutorials, especially the first one and also good beginners patterns. They also explain how to read patterns.

Thanks for your advise, I will pick those up... turns out it looks like I can make it on Sunday for some of the meetup, so see you then, hopefully! Cheers :-)
