Ferry to Dalkey Island and meet the "other" Seals!

Hiya Seals! We are meeting "other" seals today on their home turf on Dalkey Island. The ferry leaves Coliemore harbour from 10am in the morning at weekends and sails back and forth to Dalkey Island depending on the weather. The ferry costs €7 return for adults and baby seals are only charged €5 return. Ken is the ferry man and his mobile is[masked] 6516.

Please feel free to join us and bring warm waterproof clothes as the forecast is sunny (15-17 celcius) with heavy showers and a  fresh south west wind on the Saturday. There are old ruins of St Begnet's church and a Martello tower on the Island. There are few wild rabbits and goats on the island as well. There is east facing beach where the seals hang out and have a chance to sunbathe.

I will be at the Coliemore Harbour from 10am and I have to leave for the mainland at around 1130am. Low tide is at 1120am and the currents will be strong around the island.  Bring some food if you like and chill out at your leisure.  My contact is[masked] if you have any questions.

I went through my photos from this fab meetup and discovered two short videos I took on that day too. You're in for a treat as real seals make a cameo! :) https://vimeo.com/103962296

Great day out on Dalkey Island. Thanks to Joanna for making a new real seal friend; and thanks to Jaro, Peter and Georoid for the lovely pictures. Ken the ferryman was very helpful in sailing us over and back to the island. Another Seal meetup on this island is a must!

Hiya Joanna. You are very welcome to join us. Look out for the meetup sign tomorrow. The forecast is cloudy with heavy showers with a moderate westery wind. You can swim if you wish but it can be cold when you get out and a wind/ waterproof jacket is good idea since the core temperature will plummet after getting out. Swimming is optional, and you have choice to swim in a wet suit if you wish. Or you can sit on the beach and admire the beautiful waves and scenery!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
