Due to large waitlist:
There's always the chance the RSVP list will fluctuate as we get closer to January 12th. If there is still a waitlist on Thursday 1/10/13 with at least 2 people who have paid their 2013 membership dues, I will contact those on the waitlist to see if they are interested in a session at 3:00pm at Foster's Market to play boardgames.
This event combines two amazing activities: eating delicious food and playing European boardgames. :)
The most popular European boardgames these days include games such as Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, and Carcassonne. If you've tried those and are ready to explore other games then this event is for you.
The event limit is 7 people (which may increase or decrease in future meetups depending on the game). Please RSVP only if you're 97% sure you are coming since it's common courtesy, space is limited, and for some games having the exact # of people is what makes the game work.
This event's featured boardgame:
by Brian, Sydney, and Geoff Englestein.
Message from Star Patrol Command:
"Congratulations on graduating from Space Academy and receiving your first assignment! Given your academic performance we are sure that you are just as surprised as we are. Because of the number of classes you missed, we thought you would appreciate a refresher on the basics of the way your starship operates. Please pay attention carefully to your Captain, as any damage caused to the ship will be deducted from your salary and those of your next of kin."
Space Cadets is a team cooperative game where each player is a Bridge Officer aboard the U.S.S. Moonshine. Play roles such as the Sensors Officer, Weapons Officer, Helmsman, etc. This is a game where you travel the universe, explore deep space, and defend the universe from crazy threats. Bring your A-game recruits!!!
Only those who have paid their 2013 membership dues can attend the event. Members who have paid will have a title under their name that says, "Active 2013." Thanks!
About Foster's Market:
Foster's Market is a pretty awesome place with delicious food and a mix of modern and vintage furniture. I think it's called shabby chic furniture or something like that. Food is sold counter service so you can order and pay for your food individually. They also have vegetarian options! A laundry mat is also located next door if you want to multitask. Cleaning your hands before we play is highly appreciated.
You can check out Foster Market's menu here: http://www.fostersmarket.com/menus/market-menu/
*On Saturday I will come a little early to secure a large enough table.
