Homa Arjomand will be joining us to update the situation with Sharia Law in
Canada and around the globe.

Homa is founder of, Children First Now www.childrenfirstnow.com www.childrenfirstnow.com, the Coordinator of the International Campaign against Sharia Court in Canada www.nosharia.com, The International Campaign to closedown Iranian Embassies www.losedowniranianembassies.com, Campaign against polygamy, Honor killing , force marriages, arrange marriages and the Cultural Bridges Association. She actively participates for One School System Network in Ontario www.onessn.org. She is the Spokesperson of Women’s liberation www.azadizan.net/

She keenly participated as a speaker at various conferences to oppose Sharia Court in Canada and the restrictions that political Islam was imposing on women and children. She is a strong advocator of secularism.

In Alberta she worked as coordinator for the International Federation of Iranian Refugees.1990-1994 and Campaign of Women’s Right in Iran and Middle East.

In Toronto, Homa, ran a social talk show on Rogers Cable which dealt with children’s rights, women’s rights, gay and lesbian rights and elder abuse. For the past 15 years she is working Full-Time as transitional support counsellor for women experiencing domestic violence assisting women who have left their abusive partners make the transition to live violence free lives, Confidential counselling for women aged 16 and older, legal information and practical support and works as group facilitator for children who witness abuse or have become victim of abuse in east Toronto.
Homa has been recognized as women of the year by Gazette Des Femmes for the year 2005.

In the Year of 2006 she received the annual Toronto Humanist of the Year award

On June 17, 2006 Homa received HAC (Humanist Association of Canada) Humanist of The Year Award.

In March 2010 Centre for Inquiry Canada name an award after Homa, "Homa Arjomand Award for Secular Advocacy", which will be given out on an annual basis.
