9th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant

This event is kid-friendly. The Beaver Queen Pageant is a fun outdoor community celebration to benefit the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, a group that works to protect Durham's Ellerbe Creek and its surrounding lands. The event is held at Duke Park in Durham and features music, food trucks, and pageant contestants dressed up as flamboyant beavers with festive tails. Admission is free, and audience members buy votes for their favorite "beavers." The beavers will engage in various gyrations and contortions in order to win votes. This year's contestants include Beavie Sticks, Dolly B. Parton, Ethel Furman, Furrabella Conchita Carramba, Isis Goddess of the Lodge, and Stella Spacebeaver. Bring chairs, blankets and picnics. Leashed dogs are welcome; owners are asked to be sure to control their dogs, clean up after them and don't let them sniff the beavers.

Here's a video clip featuring Reigning Queen Furrah Gnawsett-Majors and The Faithful performing "Down By The Ellerbe" to inspire you to come on down...down to The Meadow at Duke Park! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJrpzoXgZJo

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
