Please post a face picture of yourself and tell us a little bit about you such as where you are from and what brought you here. No need to lay out your life's story but please do write a little bit more than "Hello", "Brunch is great", or ".":
Hi, I'm originally from London but have moved around a fair bit, spending a year working in both Japan and France. I moved to Germany in July with work
Let's meet up and socialize over breakfast or brunch in the Düsseldorf area. Join if you like to meet up now and then over some food - the venue and times will vary, depending on if it is a breakfast or a brunch that is organized and depending on where we are. Breakfasts normally start earlier than brunch events. Events will be hosted on weekends, and not always on a regular basis. If you are in the Düsseldorf area either permanently or now and then, why not join?
All our events are normally for a limited group and the reason is simple: We need to make reservations and therefore we need to know how many people are actually coming.
(By the way: The main language spoken will be English - so don't worry if you don't speak a word of German: It's not needed. If the venue doesn't have an English menu, we will help with the translation.)
Tips, ideas and suggestions are always more than welcome. You can email the organizers or post here; for the latter, lease post under "Discussions" in the forum for "Tips and Ideas" because as of 2011 Meetup.com has changed their layout so that ideas looks like "Meetups in Planning" which causes confusion.
Also, please note as well that it is very important that you keep your RSVPs up-to-date; only RSVP "Yes" if you are really planning on coming; don't just do it to hold a space. If you are uncertain then it is better that you let someone else take the spot and join us sometime when you are sure you can make it. Things can, of course, happen that force you to change a "Yes" to a "No", but when they do, make sure you update the RSVP on the website to a "No" as soon as you know you can't make it.
A word about the waitlist: We encourage use of the waitlist which is normally automatic and tends to move as the date of the event approaches; sometimes even on the day of. So if you are waitlisted for an event, please keep an eye on the event website and the email account you have connected to Meetup.com; because if someone cancels you will be automatically moved to "Yes". If you make other plans, please make sure you remove yourself from the waitlist by changing your RSVP to a "No".
Finally, please know that when you join you are asked to post a picture of yourself (if there's more than one person in the picture please indicate who you are) and to write a couple of words about yourself (like where you are from and what brought you here and anything else you might want the group to know).
Tanks for your consideration! We look forward to having you join us at the next event.
