Open Wetlab Safety & Introduction Course

Want to do experiments in the Open Wetlab? Join the safety training in order to know your way around the lab.

We'll give you the ins and outs on how to work safely in a wetlab, walk through the lab, and provide instructions for working with our equipment. You will also learn about what is going on in the lab and some history of biotechnology along the way. The training starts at 19:00. It's also possible to have your DIY-dinner here, so bring your own food and we'll provide cutlery starting at 18:00.

This is a training for those DIY-biologists that are interested in doing biological or chemical experiments on Tuesday night. Participants who want to do experiments at the Open Wetlab are required to do the training and successfully complete the test before they can start with their work.

The joy of someone passing the safety test! As part of the instructions we examined the Material Safety Data Sheet of caffeine. Long term exposure effects include organ damage. So this time the machine tour included not just the coffee machine, but also the water boiler for tea :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
