Guana, the Interior Trails Field Trip

We will meet at the GTMNERR main entrance trailhead (restroom available) and walk the trails on the west side of A1A looking for migratory birds.

Hike lasts about 3 hours, wear closed-toed walking shoes, need insect repellant and a drink/snack.

To get to the GTMNERR main entrance, turn west just north of the Gate station. See GTMNERR.org for more information; map at “Contact Us”. Parking: $3 per car up to 8 people.

Please remember to bring binoculars / scopes, bug spray, sunscreen, lunch/snacks, drinks, and a friend!

It's already raining and I don't want to take my son out in it. Have fun everybody and try to stay dry.

Is this trip only for grownups? I'd like to take my 9 year old son.

There is a First Watch at Butler and AIA, for anyone who wants to go to lunch afterwards.

I am new to bird-watching, may I join in the fun?

    September 13, 2013

    • Debi H.

Absolutely. All our events are free and open to the public. We have a mix of people, from experienced birders to those who just like to walk in the woods and learn.
