Cradle Creek/Castaway Island Field Trip

Leaders: Joan & Richard Becker

Castaway Island Preserve protects more than 300 acres of coastal habitats along the meandering, estuarine San Pablo River. The gen-tle mile long trail skirts the estuary and pine flatwoods where we may see Ibis and wood storks. Cradle Creek Preserve offers a can-opy of old-growth upland forests, saltwater marshes, and panoramic views of the creeks that feed the Intracoastal Waterway. The Pre-serve provides habitat protection for endangered and threatened plant and animal species including the Least Tern, Bald Eagle, and Wood Stork. Meeting Place: 2921 San Pablo Road South.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
