Kingsley Plantation/Fort George Island Field Trip

Kingsley Plantation/Fort George Island

April 19th @ 6:00 a.m. for Owls, 7:00 a.m. for regular birding. Leader: Kevin Daily,[masked]

This is during spring migration and a great time to see a wide variety of Neo-tropical species. Painted Buntings, Summer Tanagers, Red-eyed Vireos, and Yellow-throated Warblers are just a few. We will start owling from the Ribault Club, then return there to meet the 7 a.m. group.

Meeting place: Fort George Island Ribault Club Parking lot. From I-295 exit on Heckscher Drive toward Amelia Island. Turn left onto Ft. George Road about 1⁄2 mile past the St. Johns River Ferry, look for the brown sign for Kingsley Plantation. When you get to the fork in the road take the right fork. The Ribault Club will be on your right, white building with black fence sur-rounding the property. There is limited parking on the right side, but plenty on the left side of the road.
