Baby Birds! St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park

St Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park Print Saturday, March[masked], 8:45am - 12:00pm

Leader: Denise Jump[masked]

Thanks to the resident alligators, wading birds like Snowy Egret, Great Egret, Wood Stork and Tricolored Heron make the Alligator Farm their nesting site.

Boardwalks wind through the rookery, giving up-close looks at birds, their nests and their young.

Great for birders and photographers alike.

Zoo rates are $21.95 for adults; $10.95 for children under 11. If you pay in CASH, the price is discounted to $15.50. Checks and Visas will be paid at the regular zoo rate.

Directions: From I-95, take S.R. 207 (Exit 311). Turn east toward St. Augustine. Drive 3.7 miles, then turn right on to S.R. 312. Go 3.6 miles, crossing US 1 and going over a bridge spanning the Intracoastal Waterway. Turn left (North) on to A1A/Anastasia Blvd. It is located 1 1/2 miles North on the left on A1A.

We arrived there about 10 am. The Alligator Farm staff still gave us the Audubon discount. :-) It was very very cool to see the birds so close up. We had lunch at the Gypsy Cab Company about noon. We're looking forward to going back in a month to see the new arrivals.

Debi, I went last spring to find hardly no spoonies! The hurricane that previous fall had killed a lot of spoonies. It was so disappointing. Hope to see many this time!
