What is your profession or business?

I work in financial services. I would however like to start a venture part time.

How, if at all, do you think dyslexia has affected your career / business?

There was a huge effect. I dropped out of school when I was 17 so spent a lot of my early career avoiding any question related to education. Fortunately, learnt that dogged determination was a trait of dyslexics so started studying again at 27 to do an undergraduate and then followed it up with a postgraduate. Also, dyslexics tend to have good people skills which really helped in my career.

What would you like to gain from this group?

Not sure. Dyslexics are quite fun to be around and I love talking about business.

How did you hear about this group?

No answer yet

Introduction

Hi, I discovered I was dyslexic when I was 27 during the first year of a part time degree course. It was a huge revelation and helped me completely changed the way I studied and confidence in my ability.
