90 Lafayette Street, New York, NY
Join us as we team up with New York's Rescue Mission. According to census there are 50,900 homeless people, including 12,100 homeless families with 21,300 homeless children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. Families comprise three-quarters of the homeless shelter population. This number does not account for thepopulation unaccounted for. Which our group refers to the thousands who are surviving on the streets.
It's great organizations like Rescue Mission that come to the aid of people who are in crisis that help the many that may not have something to eat. Their population not only the homeless, but any New Yorker in crisis. The help is welcome to anyone in need.
The New York City Rescue Mission, America’s First Rescue Mission, has had the same goal since 1872: to provide hope, food, clothing and shelter to people in crisis in New York City.
Many of you are cleaning out your closet to make room for the new year. Spring cleaning is a little later in the year, but like me, many of you clean the house before embarking a new year to your life. If so, please donate!
Here is what we need:
• We need clothing (for men only) the donation is for their men shelter only (another event will be held for women and children)
• Please do not bring soiled clothing (all must be clean)
• Prepackaged toiletries
• No Furniture!
Many organizations receive an abundant amount of donations for women children
