Are you a music lover?  Of course you are!  Here is what we do, and a little further down you'll find what tools we're using.

For Socializing, we meet bi-weekly for general discussion / laptop jams, with coffee on Saturdays one week and 'pizza-night' on Thursdays the other week.   

We are also putting together a "play and tell" event at the Center for Contemporary Arts in mid-March, with one or two 'dry run' sessions before that in Feb.  Like a poetry reading, we'll play a short selection of our music for an audience and discuss it afterwards. 

Finally, we schedule weekly NINJAM jam sessions so we can get together online and make some music on Sundays. 

For Learning, the theme is Aggregate and Curate.  Open to all members, we'll begin working together to find tutorials on areas in which we want to learn more.  We'll post these things in the Discussion pages for now to see if it works.  We've also got a google sites page (https://sites.google.com/site/eamcsac/home), along with a soundcloud account (username is eamcsac@gmail.com and password is kerplunk1)

For Creating, we developed an Experimental Prototype for a Collaborative Jam Group.  The idea is to create some pieces of music that everyone has worked on together.  So in a group of 5 people, person 1 will create a 2-4 minute track with the basics and pass it along to person 2.  Person 2 will add something to the track and pass it along.  The track will go through all 5 people.  Since everyone will start with a track, we'll have 5 pieces of music at the end of the experiment.

Our Tools:  

We're into the many sub-genres of electronic and electro-acoustic music and use a range of methods, focusing on software & hardware related issues such as Ableton's LIVE, REASON, MAX/MSP, Acid Pro, Logic, Cubase, and others. Sub-genres range from classical art music (acoustic, but could include amplification) to electro-acoustic music for solo performances or chamber groups with electronic accompaniment; and from Loopers, Tape pieces, and DJ’s, to the Circuit Bending and Noise gaggle. It is a true Collective; an organization that is devoted to creating an environment of public interest, performance, forums, and workshops related to new methods of composition in a vast world filled with electronic generating devices. It's a friendly environment in which to share your work, receive feedback, technical assistance and support from like-minded individuals who also share the enthusiasm of electronic music.  Since things have shifted to the mobile paradigm, there are loads of music making apps for phones and tablets -
