A Touch of Art - an exclusive evening celebrating African inspired art

partYcipate Events is pleased to invite you to ‘A Touch of Art’- a cocktail party and art exhibition celebrating African creativity.
The evening will provide an opportunity to view and interact with an exclusive selection of artists and designers who draw inspiration from the African continent, while networking and learning about the future of African art and how to begin an art focused career or enterprise.

When: Friday 14th June 2013
Where: 41 Portland Place (Academy of Medical Sciences)
Time: 7pm-11:30pm

A Touch of Art is an annual art exhibition which features African inspired art from up and coming African and non-African artists all over the world and aims to raise the profile of art from this region. Featured artists are given the chance to showcase their talents and speak to a diverse audience about their work. This year's exciting line up of artists include Lotus Menezes from Tanzania, Edward Ofosu from Ghana and Segilola Scott from Nigeria amongst others. In 2012, funds raised from the event went towards building a library for the children of the Royal Seed Home in Ofakour, Ghana. This library will also serve children in the neighboring communities.
In 2013, we will be supporting the Songhai Art Foundation which assists struggling artists in Ghana and Africa to commercialize and promote their work. The Songhai Art Foundation also aims to change the perception of Africans by promoting visual art as a viable career path and creating opportunities for artists in these communities to commercialize their art and showcase their talent.
