ACApps Challenge 2013.1 April 27th

Register @ http://code.acgov.org

It's Hackathon season didn't you know! AC Apps Challenge 2012 was such a success that Alameda County is continuing the challenge with a Hackathon #2 or Apps Challenge 2013.1. While the event will be held at a different place and time of the year, the goals remain the same. We want you to continue the positive momentum we saw last winter in promoting open data/government, collaboration, and innovation with the community and of course Challenge YOU to combine technology and transparency to:
o Create a concept, web and/or mobile applications that benefit Alameda County residents, businesses and/or visitors
o Use at least one of the data sets from Alameda County Open Data (data.acgov.org) or create data about Alameda County
We hope you enjoyed the last event and we would love to see you again on April 27th. Come join us at Berkeley High School for a day of hacking. Meet some new people, see some old friends, and start a new challenge!
When: April 27, 2013
Time: 8:30 am to 7:00 pm – 5 incredible hours of hacking somewhere in the middle!
Where: Berkeley High School – one block from the Downtown Berkeley Bart Station

I'll be there tomorrow but instead of competing I'll be working on a community-designed app. Look for me at the table with the Oakland Tribune banner and stop by! Especially you East Bay JS study group people.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
