Alameda County Apps Challenge 2013.1

Hackathon for Alameda County (acgov.org)

NOTE: Registration is not required at this Meetup; please see the details below!

Check out code.acgov.org; the hackathon is hosted by Alameda County and will be held at Berkeley High School on April 27th. It'll be a great place for the group to put their Ruby skills to work. Our first hackathon in December, at the Castro Valley Library, was a great success and we are hoping for more of the same in Berkeley!!

We want to continue the positive momentum we saw last winter in promoting open data/government, collaboration, and innovation with the community and of course Challenge YOU to combine technology and transparency to:

o Create a concept, web and/or mobile applications that benefit Alameda County residents, businesses and/or visitors
o Use at least one of the data sets from Alameda County Open Data (data.acgov.org) or create data about Alameda County

Come join us at Berkeley High School for a day of hacking.

When: April 27, 2013
Time: 8:30 am to 7:00 pm
-5 incredible hours of hacking somewhere in the middle!
Where: Berkeley High School
-one block from the Downtown Berkeley Bart Station

Follow us today on twitter at @ACDATA and #acapps.
Start the ideas flowing and register now at code.acgov.org.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
