Re: [ruby-81] Rubyists I need your help!

I'm sorry, I over-reacted.  I was  reacting to what I thought would be  the next 300 emails about recruiters,  recruiting, etc.  not to  Lena's post.  I think all the bitching about recruiters ruins the list.  I think recruiters should be encouraged.   Let's just move on.

Elliott, what's up with that? This seems like a perfectly legitimate & properly
targeted solicitation for RoR talent in an appropriate forum. You
yourself have posted
such solicitations for engineers on the ruby-6 list, for your own HitFix.

Is it the wording? Personally, since I write code for a living, I would have
suggested Lena have someone technical vet her solicitation, so that
(for example) the
phrase "you love working in Agile, want to work in Ruby" might read as something
more accurately reflecting knowledge of the market, e.g. "you insist
on doing some variant
of test and/or behavior driven development in in the Rails stack." But
aside from some
novice wording, her post seems perfectly benign & inoffensive... and it bears
emphasizing that this is someone *looking to hire RoR developers,* someone who
seems to have no prior history of posting here.

Am I missing some context?

Curious, Russell
