Life After Life by Kate Atkinson

On a cold and snowy night in 1910, Ursula Todd is born, the third child of a wealthy English banker and his wife. Sadly, she dies before she can draw her first breath. On that same cold and snowy night, Ursula Todd is born, lets out a lusty wail, and embarks upon a life that will be, to say the least, unusual. For as she grows, she also dies, repeatedly, in any number of ways. Clearly history (and Kate Atkinson) have plans for her: In Ursula rests nothing less than the fate of civilization.

Wildly inventive, darkly comic, startlingly poignant — this is Kate Atkinson at her absolute best, playing with time and history, telling a story that is breathtaking for both its audacity and its endless satisfactions.

I'm sorry, but I won't be able to make it this Saturday. Have fun and I'll see you next time!

My Saturday morning availability is questionable at this point, so I'd rather bow out now instead of doing a last minute thing. Hopefully, next month my schedule will allow me to make it. I think this is the 3rd month in a row I will have not been able to attend. I miss it!!

Question: what does Rubino's have to do with Reston Library?

I'm crossing my fingers that more space is available. Meanwhile, I will just "wait" on the Wait List. ;)

My advice (as if anyone asked) is to go ahead and read the book as if you're confirmed. People pull out for all sorts of reasons in the weeks and days prior to the meet up.

Great Book! If you are interested, her other books are terrific and much shorter (if that is an issue)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
