Discussion: Meditation and the Mind

The mind, and our perceptions of it, can be an incredible tool for spiritual development... and it can also be a challenge.  Cayce says...

"The subconscious mind is both consciousness and thought or spirit-consciousness. Hence may be best classified, in the physical sense, as a habit." 266-10

"The time has arisen in the earth when men--everywhere--seek to know more of the mysteries of the mind, the soul, the soul's mind which man recognizes as existent, yet has seen little of the abilities of same." 254-52

"That builded by thought and deed becomes the active particles, atoms, that make up that soul body, see?" 5756-4

"Thoughts are things, and they have their effect upon individuals, especially those that become supersensitive to outside influences. These are just as physical as sticking a pin in the hand." 386-2

"Remember, the soul never forgets.  For it is eternal." 2425-1

This will, no doubt, be yet another lively and interesting discussion!  Have you learned different types of meditation?  Do you pray?  Talk to God?  What about the power of dreams?  Share you experiences with us :)

These discussions are now potluck lunches.  Make sure to check the discussion below for the current menu.

Don't know if I will make this one. My grandson was in from Texas and it was a late evening. The spirit is willing but the body is tired. Besides, all the good
    Doughnuts were already purchased. :)

It's always a good idea to bring something that you yourself would like to eat.

Reminder to everyone coming. As part of this meet-up we share a potluck meal and at my home all the food should be vegetarian. Thanks
