How would you use £100 to introduce more members to EPIK?
EPiK - Code the world around you is an initiative designed to encourage young people in Kent to engage with computer programming and all things technical in a creative and fun way epik.org.uk
Challanging route to IT career pathway by giving youths access to experts in their fields from Web tech to indie games developers via live coding events every 2 months and facilitating work experience opportunities as a tool to build a body of work as a portfolio.
Our objective is to connect software engineers and young enthusiasts as users of technology by introducing them to "Making" as a crafting process so that our youth base can overcome this disconnect of how technology works and it ability to offer jobs you not only enjoy but love doing.
EPiK's 3rd competition will open again on the 15th of November 2013 at the KentChoice4U LIVE event for those aged 8 - 25, this year the key thing we want to see is progression, our prizes including invitation to the the British Computer Society conference to show case your work, prize are all focused on progression from laptops to software that will get you making and hopefully encourage you to seek a career in IT, winners will also be offering the opportunity to be selected for Apprenticeships in IT with local Kent Tech companies interviews and get YOU invited to our Coding boot camps every 3 months FOR FREE!!
This is opened to any youth aged 8 - 25 and it is FREE and 15+ as WebMaker Mentors volunteers to help teach their peers.
