I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard and felt so alive and in the moment. The festival was incredibly fun, but taking the 1 1/2 hour long metro ride back gave me some memories I will cherish for years to come!
There are some of the most incredibly kind, interesting, and entertaining people in this ESL group.
75% of the people showed up much later than 7 pm. The lines for the really good food truck were long. The tapas truck food, where many members ate, was okay. The live music was okay to excellent. The cornhole toss was as lame as to be expected, no one played.
I met some really incredible new people for the first time, including Walter (American), Yuri (south American), Alex (Russian) and Yayoi Matsumoto (Japanese).
This was Joe (Philippines) second meetup. He returned on the lonnng metro ride back and I am excited that he appears like he will be a new regular member and friend.

Delong, thank you for your comments. I just saw your comments now as you wrote them when we were at the festival. I sent out many emails of the exact place to meet, as WELL as both Travis and my phone numbers..Travis also did a GREAT job to take a picture of where we were meeting, and he posted it on the site...Sorry that you couldn't meet up with us, but I'm not sure why you didn't call one of us to let us know that you were searching for us, or read one of the emails that showed exactly where we were meeting. See you next time maybe and have a good weekend, Noonie

Kyungrok it is more than just 20 food trucks, it is a festival!
As the Examiner said today:
It's the last Truckeroo of the summer and not a bad way to enjoy a good meal on Saturday. The Truckeroo, which has gathered thousands for its monthly festival of local food, is ending the season with a bang. More than 20 food trucks will surround the perimeter of the event...There will also be live music and games such as cornhole to help you relive your college days.
So whether you're craving beef berbere from Fojol Bros. or a chongos pop from Pleasant Pops, check out the free festival from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
(Cornhole, also known as bean bag toss, corn toss, baggo or bags, is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing corn hole bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end.)

added photo of where we will meet.
Meet at 7 pm, Navy Yard Metro Station on the Green Line. At the M Street/Half Street Exit, very top of stairs next to the metro maps, we will have a red umbrella.
This will be a lot of fun!

Thank you, Rudy for suggesting this meetup, giving us the website, and also for telling me of the September date so that I could reschedule to September (and not just cancel the summer date we had, due to the rain that was in the forecast then). Now, as a result of having this in September, more people can go. :). I will be gone from 9/15-9/20, and preparing for the vacation before then. I am closer to being able to go to this truckeroo meetup though! :)

I don't know yet if I will be able to make it as I will be getting together with a friend on this night. He's been to a meetup before, so if I can get him tp join us, then I'll be at truckeroo (or there's a chance that I can come later to truckeroo, after meeting him). Either way, Travis is hosting it. Thanks.
