It was a great lesson and a lot of fun. Wish we would have had more time.

Bring flashlight, or light up toys!!, and a second lens to make a super macro temporary lens. Tripods and trigger release if you have them.

Bring a couple images to share if you like, whether you want feedback or not your choice. Size the image to 1900 on the longest side at 72 dpi, and sRGB, if you know how to do this great.Specifically bring macro attempts, or night or light painting since that's what we will play with tonight. And bring a friend too.
It'd be really great to attend monthly meetings! Meetings have been on Thursday nights for a very long time. Is there any way that meetings could be changed to Tuesday nights maybe? Just can not make Thursday nights and have not been able to for the last two years.

Cant make this meeting. Decided to go down to Anchor Point for a long weekend before I start my new job on Monday.. See you all next time! Have fun!!
There are new lens babies on sale at B&H, if you order now you'd have it in time for the meeting. The base price is just for the lens, not all the attachments.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/b...

Thank you Janice. I look forward to meeting you. I know Marco and Becky and have met Bob Martin, although he probably does not remember me.
Well that makes it easy if you know people. Look forward to meeting you
Someone tell me what activities consist of your meeting times? Moreoever, should my camera and tripod accompany me?

Depending on the meeting, but I always bring both. =) you never know what may happen.
Thank you for the advice Joe. By that time I may have my new arca swiss ball head ready to mount on my new Gitzo.
I can't make this one, that's 2 in a row... =( I have to work in Ft. Greely that week. Have fun and I look forward to hearing about the meeting.
If you want to do actual snowflakes on that night, bring an LED flashlight, it doesn't melt the snow flake. A small picture frame, with the glass intact and taped in place, but the back removed. And a small fine paint brush. Anyone else with snowflake advice step in here....

To do light painting we need a dark room, so the one from last month will not work. If anyone wants to suggest a dark room then we could meet there, otherwise in the bright lights we can do macro, lens babies, and do it your self super macro which is helpful if you want to shoot snowflakes, like those falling RIGHT NOW. Bring an extra lens along, tripod, flashlight, and some 'smalls' for shooting, and a sheet or cloth for a backdrop. (like small toys, or jewelry or pins etc. )We will talk about using the camera as an art tool, reviewing basic operations, and brushing over composition and themes. The flashlights and camera strobes can be used to creatively light your subjects. If you haven't got a tripod buy a cheap one, it's better than none at all. While the final product make not be your ideal image, the practice encourages thinking outside the box, and broadens your skill sets, which is what art jurors are looking for. Not just another pretty picture.
I would love to do either one

Hey Janice, which model do you use and do you have the various attachments? Mark
I have the composer and I have quite a few of the attachments just not sure which ones I have with me and which ones r in Canada. Haven't used it for awhile but would love to use it again. It's a lot of fun but u have to have patience
I have a lens baby if that is what you want to do
I'll try and post an example from last nights work, downtown. We can bring both objects and people to be models.

Light painting sounds fun!!
What do people want to do for November? How about light painting? We did it once before but with all the new members it might be fun to review.Or maybe Lensbabies, what are they and how to use them or make your own baby. Is having a baby right for you? How many people have one they can bring to share?
