Windy Hill OSP Spring Ridge Trail to Hamms Gulch 8-Mile Loop

We will do my favorite loop hike in this park, which combines the Spring Ridge and Hamms Gulch trails. This is an 8 mile loop with 1650’ elevation gain.

Directions

We will meet in the parking lot off of Portola Road.  To get to the parking lot from 280 heading north, take the Alpine Road exit and take a left at the bottom of the ramp.  Follow Alpine Road until you come to a stop sign.  Take a right onto Portola Road and go about a mile (not the 3 miles it says in the automated locator results above).  Past the Sequoias retirement community on your left, you will see a sign for the Windy Hill parking lot.  If the lot is not yet open, we can park on the road.  There are toilets at the parking lot.

Facilities:

There is a toilet in the parking lot. But I do not believe that there is any water available here.

I've never been there but I found a trail map and don't mind informally leading it.

Hi Everybody! It's great to see so many people signed up for a hike. Unfortunately I am going to have to drop off this hike because I found out I need to work on Sunday morning. Is anyone familiar with this hike and interested in informally leading it? If so I will leave it posted. Sorry to have to drop off this hike!
