Blackfoot Traditional Pipe Ceremony

  • Aug 8, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Home of Jimmy Theim

At Bear Spirit Medicine Lodge, Pipe Ceremony is a meaningful community prayer experience, open for participation of all people. It is held each month and is conducted in keeping with the traditional ways of the Blackfoot people.

The pipe ceremony is a sacred ritual for connecting spiritual and physical worlds. Pipe ritual may be conducted inside or outside. The pipe is our prayers in physical form. Smoke becomes our words; it goes out, touches everything, and becomes a part of All-That-Is. Tobacco is used because its medicine is to connect All-That-Is.

You will be guided through the ceremony by the leader. The Pipe Ceremony leader will help you guide your prayers, show you how to handle the pipes, and may share teachings and stories about Pipe.

We invite you to come together as a community of both new and long-time friends as we participate in a connection with the sacred energy of “All-That-Is” through Pipe Ceremony. Join us for this sacred and unique experience.

Pipe ceremony lasts for approximately 2 hours. We welcome your arrival 15 minutes early to get settled and prepare for Ceremony.  Plan to be inside. Dress comfortably and appropriately. Bring a Blanket or cushion on which to sit comfortably on the floor.

COST: There is never a charge for ceremony. Donations to
support ceremony are welcome, as you feel called to give them. We are a non-profit 501-3c organization.
