Field Trip: Tour de Tanks 2013 w/ Avery Ellis
Day 1 - Tour #2 (4/16/13) at 1PM
COST IS FREE! Click here to register!
Game Plan: Join Integrated Aquaponics for a local tour on April 16th at 1PM to see working aquaponics in action! Learn about nutrient film technique (NFT), deep water culture (DWC), ebb and flow systems (EBF) and more while touring Avery's personal aquaponics setup!
Directions and Parking: The tour will be held in a private residence near the Twin Lakes in Boulder, CO. If you're departing from Longmont or Loveland you would utilize Hwy.119 following it southwest. Those arriving from Littleton, Lakewood or Golden can use highways west C-470, west 6th Avenue and north Hwy.93 near Rocky Flats. Coming from any other direction you will eventually need to make your way to Hwy.36 / Boulder turnpike. Follow that west into Boulder where you'll approach the Foothills Parkway exit and head north. Foothills Parkway makes a few curves to the left, but as soon as it takes you on a broad curve to the right you will be approaching Jay Rd... Coming from north or south most of us will be exiting there and heading East.
The rest looks like this-
-Heading east on Jay Rd....
-Left turn on 63rd St. heading north
-Right turn on Twin Lakes Rd. heading east again
-Make your 2nd right hand turn on Kalua Rd.
-Curving to the left make your 4th right hand turn on Sandpiper Cir.
-After Sandpiper curves to the left a 2nd time, it's the 2nd house on the right.
Dogs: We ask that you please leave pets at home unless otherwise cleared with Avery Ellis.
Attendance: The Tour de Tanks will be 4 tours total, two on 4/16 (10am & 1pm) and two on 4/18 (10am & 1pm). Each tour will cover the same information which means it is unnecessary to attend every tour. Each tour was setup to provide different times to help maximize attendance and provide various options for potential attendees. It is important to reserve a spot in advance.
Once you have completed registration RSVP to this event.
Don't Forget: Smile! / Water Bottle if you think you'll get thirsty.
Weather: Tours are held indoors! But we might get lucky and tour the greenhouse too! It's Colorado so it's always good to bring a jacket to throw in the back seat if it's below 55º.
