“ I really enjoyed participating in this Yom Kippur retreat. It was inspiring and enlightening. There were a few activities I found "too much" but that is just my personal preference. I found the Yizkor service somewhat too intense. I don't think it was helpful to listen to each person's losses. When you get to middle age everyone has losses. Listening to so many people that elaborated about their relatives was too much for me. It would have been better for each person to come up and put stones in the water naming the people or the category ie parents. Dwelling on individual loss is not particularly healing in my opinion. In terms of neilah I enjoyed some of the alternate "activities" for dealing with the neilah service but I missed some of the traditional prayers. I did not think that dance activities and musical performances were appropriate unless the tone was more related to teshuva. Lightening it up seemed inappropriate. I thought the bridge was an appropriate venue for sharing. ”

“ The Havurah is an interesting collective, welcoming us into their home, Marcia and Steve, were gracious. The study time was enhanced by individuals allowing the process to work and be a part of it. Thank you for hosting that important session. ”
