Cynthia Kenyon: Fountain of Youth
Prof. Cynthia Kenyon from UCSF, a legend in the field she helped create, was among the first to prove that lifespan is genetically programmed, with her discovery in 1993 of the DAF-2 gene. By modifying genes, her lab has underscored that aging is not just wear and tear, and rather that master switches control logevity, and that these switches can be flipped, increasing lifespan (and healthspan) in animals by huge factors (6x and more).
What is her lab up to now, and when will interventions be ready for humans?

Thanks for the replies... I think that I hadn't been getting notices for EBF events, so when I did get one, I was pleasantly surprised. See you in the future!

Hi- would it be possible to come for the presentation part only? Not sure I will finish work on time to make the dinner as well!

Traci, thanks for posting this. I have been too distracted to plan any meetups. But I was planning on going to this anyway. Health Extension is awesome and so is Runway SF.
