What are you looking for from a Contra Costa County hacker or makerspace?

I am excited about the hackerspace as a place to organize teaching events such as Barcamp, CoderDojo, open source software events, Hacker Scouts, and similar.

How did you hear about us?

I first heard about this group when I decided to start it late one night when I couldn't sleep. I sat up in bed and shouted "Eureka!"

What are your experiences with hacking and making?

I'm a long time UNIX fan and I spent years working in an engineering lab certifying enterprise Linux on commercial PC hardware. I used to be very involved in the Apache project. I currently work with a wide range of open source software on a Big Data project at H.P.

I'm a veteran Linux evangelist, a former Red Hat employee and currently employed at H.P. I've been involved in the hacking community since I ran a hacker BBS in the early 90s. I love chatting about hacking, open source software and social activism.
