Bootstrapping to a Strong Brand

Hello Hardwarians,

The new year is upon, with new resolutions to get your product to market!  To kick it off right, our next meetup will discuss the dreaded "M" word, Marketing.   In working with hundreds of clients over the years, the main indicator to success that I've consistently seen has been the startup's focus towards and understanding of marketing (I'll tell you the second main indicator at the event).  So you won't want to miss this month's talk from Aaron Schwartz, who went from[masked] watches in the virtual tick of a second-hand, about how to strategically get to market on a shoestring.

7:00 - 7:30  Networking: with pizza and beer

7:30 - 8:15  Aaron Schwartz - Bootstrapping on a Budget

Ever wonder how to actually bootstrap a startup? Aaron started Modify with a budget of $1,000, and surpassed $500k revenue in the company's 2nd full year. He'll discuss how they built their social following, got into Best Buy, and chose their channels. For those of you who have read the work of Steve Blank and Eric Ries, a lot of Modify's success is attributable to the principles of Customer Discovery and the Lean Startup.

8:15 - 8:45  Demos: 2 min's intros from attendees who want to announce their product or service.  Feel free to bring a prototype, but beyond your prototype, just you and a microphone to keep things moving.

8:45 - 9:30  Networking

Hey all! Sorry, didn't realize there were notes in here. I *really* enjoyed the event. I need to miss the next one, but will be there going forward.

Also, we launched our Kickstarter Campaign!!! Would be extremely grateful if you could share with your friends/networks. We can't get to our $50k goal without a ton of people seeing this. And if you can think of anything creative, please support :)

Hey William Burke! Can you contact me at [masked]? I could use your help with some costing, connection to local manufacturers and the design for manufacture arena. Thanks!
