Beautiful, inspiring, thoughtful, provoking, insightful, quirky... just some of the words that describe our members; the films are pretty good too. It's back! (like a bad penny). The East Bay Indy/Foreign/Doc film group returns! Do you love really cool under the radar films? Maybe they don't make the billboards or the commercials; you hear about them from a friend or maybe on Fresh Air or you manage to see a preview when attending another gem. Frankly everyone I love big noisy films as much as anyone. I'm a comic book film fan, love cheese and all the rest but every once in awhile I yearn for something memorable and I start to OD on super heroes. I want something with a little meat on it. Let's dive in and watch together with perhaps a nosh after or before with some discussion (it's no fun without the debriefing session, that's the best part). I am inspired by the current doc fest and I know there are some wonderful foreign films out right now. There are 3 great theaters right on Shattuck Ave, all easily accessible via Bart. I'm not going to propose a set schedule but I think Saturdays are probably good; I'll canvass opinions when we get together. So join us. I had a group before and had a great time with it and had to give it up for a period due to some health issues but I'm back in action and yearning for some transcendence while sitting in the dark.
