East Bay L.E.A.P.S. Monthly Meetup

  • Oct 17, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

At our monthly meetings, Lyme patients and their loved ones can meet to discuss the challenges faced in diagnosing, treating, and coping with Lyme disease and other tick-borne illness (including babesiosis, bartonella, and erlychiosis). In general, we do not discuss the political aspects of this controversial disease, but on occasion we take on special projects of political activism.

Come with your knowledge and compassion, a willingness to share your experience, and most importantly, to listen to others. LEAPS is a place where Lyme patients and their supporters can feel accepted in a constructive, nonjudgmental group setting and work toward healing.

Meeting Date: Third Thursday of the month.

Meeting Time: 6:00-8:00 PM

Meeting Location:
Kaiser Hospital-Oakland (Campus Map)
Mosswodd Building, Room 1130A / 1171
3505 Broadway St, Oakland (Google Map)

Parking: Underneath the Mosswood Building or on nearby side streets.  Do NOT give your keys to the valet parking attendants.  Tell them you will be staying late.

Public Transportation: Free Kaiser Shuttle Bus from Oakland BART station to Kaiser Main Hosptial (Shuttle Bus Info).  You'll need to walk a block or two from the Main Hospital Building to the Mosswood Building.  Kaiser campus map here.

Does anyone know a Lyme literate doctor in San Francisco , Berkeley or Emeryville / Oakland area?
    I've been seeing Dr. Stricker for 1 & 1/2 - 2 years.
He's been ok and good. I just wondered if he is the only Lyme literate doctor in the bay area.
    Thanks.
I really want to come on Thursday nights meeting.
I'm not sure if the time will work.
8 pm is late for my boyfriend.
Is it possible to come and try it out for 1 hour ?
    Thanks. Having chest pain.
Did everyone see Katie Couric's talkshow yesterday on Lyme disease?
It was really good. ABC I believe. GMA might re-cap today.
She had a good doctor on who has written a book , sorry I'll get the title and post it. ( thought I had it with me )
    Thanks again.

Thanks Bob, for the referral. You said that you have been seeing her for a few years now? You must really like her, ?

hi all. I was sad to have missed the meeting last week. Does anyone know of a good line practitioner in the Nevada City or Carson City area of Nevada?

Maybe I'll message Justin directly. Riendeau's office is saying they are no longer treating Lyme patients. They are referring people to Dr. Harris in Redwood City. Ugh. Thats a long way to go for someone in Reno.

Hi Carolyn, the meetup website sends out meeting reminder emails twice for every meeting, once a week before the meeting and again the day before.

To make sure you receive email reminders, hover your mouse over the "My Profile" tab at the top right of the page, then select "Email and Notifications." Make sure all of the boxes next to the options under the "Meetups" heading are checked.

You may also need to check to make sure your email system doesn't block messages from meetup as spam. If your email lets you keep a "safe list," add this email address to that list: [masked].

      I hope that helps!
