UNHOSTED Blues and Soul with the Cathy Lemon Band at Armando's

THIS EVENT IS UNHOSTED.

Our members love this place, and we always have such a great time here!!! Seating is limited, and available on a first come first served basis.

Armando's features the best of LIVE music including jazz, blues, bluegrass, folk and everything in between, everything except over-played typical bar rock and roll.

Located at 707 Marina Vista in Martinez, Armando's is an intimate, close to the music, get to know the performers, hot spot for local talent. Armando's is a cash-only music venue serving beer, wine, and other non-alcoholic beverages.

“Cathy Lemons-she got it!  Now that’s the blues!  Funky!” - John Lee Hooker

Cathy Lemons is a vocalist, band leader, songwriter, and show producer who has been a staple of the blues scene in the Bay Area for 25 years.  Hailing from Dallas, TX she honed her chops with the likes of Anson Funderburg and performed with Stevie Ray Vaughan. She has worked with some of the great names in blues including John Lee Hooker (she toured as his send-off singer in 1987), Tommy Castro, Ron Thompson, and many others.
Cathy Lemons writes lyrics and melodies that are as haunting as they are autobiographically revealing.  She covers a wide range of blues styles-everything from the Chicago classics of Juniot Wells to turn of the century raw blues of Memphis Minnie to the more sophisticated sounds of Lowell Fusion, Jimmy Mccracklin or Earl King.

Heard about this great blues place and would love to go, but will need a ride from the Pleasant Hill area; i.e., Sun Valley, Sear's, Concord, is a suggestion.
