Beginner/Easy hike in Hidden Lakes Park, Martinez

Hidden Lakes Park... The name fits it perfectly!

Please come join us on a beginner/easy hike or walk. If we are lucky, we will catch a glimpse of the river otters swimming in the lake.  This location has beautiful views of Mt. Diablo and the surrounding foothills of the East Bay.

The hike takes around 20 to 30 mins. and is relatively flat on fire trails. It is approx. 1 -1/2 miles long. When we finish the 1st loop, we can break off into 2 groups with one group finishing up the easy hike and the 2nd group can do another loop or head over to another trail with some hills and more views.

The 1st group can take a rest in the park area and decide upon a place to go for lunch where we can all discuss our new adventure, scenery and get to know one another better. And hopefully, show off some nice new pictures!

Francois and I visited both Mt. Mike's and China Gourmet Restaurant, both on Arnold Dr, off of Morello and we decided to go ahead and plan to go to China Gourmet. They can accommodate our group and offer good lunch specials as well. Mt. Mike's was okay, but it is quite small in there.

I would LOVE to get a head count ahead of time and call the restaurant to give them an estimate of how many to expect. We should plan on heading over there right around Noon.... Feel free to leave a comment here if you plan to attend! :-)

P.S. Please be sure to bring some cash as that is much easier to deal with than a debit or credit card. I think we can get separate checks, but I am not 100% sure yet...

And finally, a few things to remember to bring....

Sunscreen (I will have some, if anyone does forget though!) a hat, and WATER! If you have hiking poles, or a walking stick, please bring them along as they are quite nice to walk with. Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday morning! :-)

Please note, dogs are very welcome on this hike as long as they are on a leash, for safety's sake. Some of the trails we will walk along do have a LOT of very dry brush, including a lot of foxtails so please check your sweet pups carefully.
If you plan to go along with us to lunch afterwards, it will be quite hot tomorrow and there are no outside tables at the restaurant, so please make sure you take your dog home after the hike, before lunch. Don't worry, we will save you a spot! :-)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
